Book Signing - “Vision: Your Pathway to Victory”      Join us for a presentation and book signing event on April 30, 2013, 6:30p.m. at the Front Street CIvic Center, featuring New York Times bestselling author, Mr. Gordon D’Angelo. This is much more than a fundraising event. You will actually take away something from this presentation. This presentation is great for any age, but students can particularly benefit from learning how to turn their aspirations into reality. To learn more or to attend or share the event on Facebook...  Summer Rowing Camps 2013 - Enrollment Now Open!      Space Coast Crew Summer Rowing Camps is a recreational program designed to introduce rowing to boys and girls attending any Brevard County junior or senior high school (rising 7th to 12th graders). Sessions are one week in length, held from Monday through Friday afternoons from 4:30-6:45pm and maintain an informal and fun atmosphere.   Each session is capped by a short, inter squad exhibition race for rowers ready to participate in a race. National Learn to Row Day Hosted by Space Coast Crew Saturday, June 1, 2013, 9am-12pm Oars & Paddles Park 1329 Banana River Drive Indian Harbour Beach, FL 32937 Brevard County Championship - Fellsmere, FL       Saturday, April 6, 2013 SCC entered 15 separate events this weekend at the Brevard County Championships and won 12.  For the first time in recent history our crews also brought home both the Men’s and Women’s Varsity 8 trophies, the Men’s and Women’s Junior Varsity trophies and the Men’s and Women's Novice 8 trophies. Overall, SCC claimed the Men's Team Points Trophy, the Women's Team Points Trophy and the Overall Team Points Trophy making SCC the 2013 Brevard County Champions! See photos1, photos2, and photos3 . Sarasota Invitational - Sarasota, FL       Saturday, March 23, 2013 SCC had a great day at the Sarasota Invitational. The weather was hot and windy, but the races were run well and all of our rowers got to race. The following are our results: WN4+ – A Boat 3rd    B Boat 3rd, MN4+ – A Boat 3rd  B Boat 2nd, MLt8+ – 4th, Mixed 8 – 1st (with the fastest time overall of 5:13.9), WN+8 – 3rd, MN8+ – 3rd, WV4+ – 4th, MV4+ – 3rd, WLt4+ – 4th, MJV8+ – 4th, WV8+ – 4th, MV8+ – 4th. See detailed results and photos. All of our rowers did a great job of handling the conditions and working to get the best results. What is not seen in these results is the kind of progress we are seeing in all of our shells. Our Men’s Novice 8 lost to Belen by several seconds early in the spring, but they were in front of them from start to finish this weekend. Our Men’s Junior Varsity 8 lost to Sarasota Scullers by more than 5 seconds at the OARS Invitational, but they lost to them this weekend by only 2 seconds. Our Men’s Varsity 4 finished near the bottom of the pack at the OARS Invitational, but came in a close 3rd this weekend and was leading their flight for most of the course. There are many other examples of where our crews here at Space Coast are seeing better results every weekend. This weekend was packed with fantastic teams. The quality of the competition this weekend was better than almost any other race we have attended this year. We should all be very proud of our rowers for the work they are putting in, and we can be confident that we are seeing a result from all that work. Looking through this list of results, we see a lot of bronze medals. Our next step is to make more of those silver and golds! SCC’s next regatta is the Brevard County Championship. We are all looking forward to being able to bring the Brevard Cup back to our boathouse this year and be able to say we are the best rowing team in Brevard. SCC rocks!
