Space Coast Crew (SCC), a 24-year old youth rowing team, is seeking applicants for part-time Middle School Assistant Coaches for the 2019-2020 season. This growing inclusive club team currently consists of over 30 middle rowers (6th- 8th grade) and draws from schools throughout Brevard County, Florida. Practices are held at the Oars and Paddles Park off the Banana River with access to the Indian River Lagoon. SCC is supported by a volunteer board of directors and works with the City of Indian Harbor Beach who owns the park.Job Description:The Middle School Assistant Coach works with the Head Middle School Coach, Assistant Middle School Coach and Director of Rowing to create a culture of cohesion while providing middle school athletes opportunities for growth and development. Focused on teaching the basics fundamentals of the stroke and keeping it fun and exciting for middle school athletes. SCC’s mission is to promote a competitive rowing program that embodies sportsmanship and ethics through the principles of respect and responsibility, and to encourage personal growth through winning and losing with dignity and self-control.
