The SCC Mission Statement

To promote a competitive rowing program that embodies sportsmanship and ethics through the principles of respect and responsibility, and to encourage personal growth through winning with grace and losing with dignity and composure. We teach responsibility, respect, and hard work through the sport of rowing. Our inclusive and challenging team philosophy means each of our young athletes are pushed to dream big, work hard and achieve high goals that will serve them into adulthood.

Our Story

Space Coast Crew started when multiple High School rowing teams in Brevard County came together to share resources and equipment. What started as a collection of multiple teams quickly grew to become one club team. From there, the club grew to add more and more student athletes and competitive programs and divisions. Today, over 25 years from our founding, our club serves both Middle and High School scholastic athletes from all over Brevard and we run programs for roughly 150 Youth student athlete members between our High School, Middle School, Masters and Associate member programs. We are committed to teaching rowing while simultaneously using the natural lessons that come with our sport to teach youth how to work hard, be patient and set goals.

Our Facility

We row out of Oars and Paddles Park in beautiful Indian Harbour Beach, FL. We have a fleet of shells that empower our athletes to be successful in multiple disciplines and boat classes. We row on the Banana River where it meets the Inter coastal Waterway. Our nearly unlimited, well protected waterway is some of the best in the state of Florida for rowing and paddling.

Our Outcomes

SCC alumni attend every major university nation wide including Florida, as well as many of the smaller institutions around the state. We currently have alumni rowing at schools such as Georgetown, Stetson University, Embry Riddle, Florida Institute of Technology, and University of Central Florida. SCC alumni also coach around the state of Florida and the Southeast. Our crews have ranked at the State, Regional and National level consistently over the past several years.
