The SCC Mission Statement
To promote a competitive rowing program that embodies sportsmanship and ethics through the principles of respect and responsibility, and to encourage personal growth through winning and losing with dignity and self-control.
Space Coast Crew is a Yearly Scholastic Youth Sports Club Team
We run programs for students in rising 7th-12th grades. We teach responsibility, respect and hard work through the sport of rowing. Our inclusive and challenging team philosophy means each of our young athletes are pushed to dream big, work hard and achieve high goals.
Registration for the 2019/2020 High School Youth Team and the Middle School Program are currently CLOSED!
SCC Programs are Broken up into a Youth/High School Team and a Middle School Team
While rising 8th graders may choose to join either the Middle School Program or the HS Team as a Novice, this isn't a light decision; the HS team has a much more stringent workout regimen and practice schedule and is required to attend more regattas during the year.
Our High School / Youth Team (8th or 9th-12th grade) is a competitive rowing team that practices 5 days a week in fall and 6 days a week in the spring. Our HS rowers attend 8 or more regattas a year, often placing in top positions in Nationals, Regionals, State, and Local regattas. We are Brevard Cup Champions 6 years in a 'row'. Our HS Team works hard, laughs hard, and learns to take both wins and losses with dignity and self-control. Many of our HS Team rowers get scholarships, some go on to row in college, and all learn teamwork, the value in hard work to make personal gains, the importance of discipline, how to set goals and meet them, team spirit, camaraderie, true friendship and the ability to build bonds that can last a lifetime.

Our Middle School Team (rising 7th & 8th grade) is a developmental program teaching the basics of rowing, proper form and teamwork in a fun and lightly competitive environment. With practice 4 days a week, our Middle School members work out, gain strength of mind and body, gain confidence, and learn valuable skills including physical dexterity, making new friends, and proper sportsmanship. Our Middle school members attend 3 or more regattas a year and usually move up into the High School Team as a Novice (first year on High School Team) either as a rising 8th grader or as a rising 9th grader.
