Here's to a great Summer 2022 Learn to Row Season!
Washing HandsAll athletes are required to wash hands at the start and end of practice. We will have ah and washing station set up at the boathouse.
Cleaning EquipmentCoaches and volunteer assistants will be provided a spray bottle with simple green/bleach and paper towels to clean equipment before and after they use it.
Work Out EnvironmentAll land workouts will be conducted outside the boathouse. In the situation of inclement weather/thunderstorms, the workouts may be cancelled and campers will be sent home, please ensure your contact information is up to date.
Our Learn-to-Row summer camps are for youth only and groups are divided into Middle School (rising 7th - 8th graders) and High School (rising 9th12th graders). Each camp is one week long and runs daily from 8:00 am - 10:00 am at Oars and Paddles Park in Indian Harbour Beach. Athletes will learn the basics of rowing technique and water safety. Participants should wear athletic clothing and shoes that they do not mind getting wet or dirty and they should bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, beach towel, and refillable water bottles.
Free Learn-to-Row Saturday Clinics
Our 2022 Free Learn-to-Row Saturday Clinic dates (subject to change). Please check back for clinic dates beginning in August 2022. Our Learn-to-Row Saturday FREE clinics are open to youth at Oars and Paddles Park. During our Free Learn-to-Row Saturday clinics, interested youth (rising 7th - 12th graders) who would like to learn more about rowing may expect:
- Participants must sign up online ahead of time and complete standard waiver
- Upon arrival, we will verify your check-in and waivers are complete. Walk ins will need to still complete online registration and space may be limited (10 participants per 30 minute slow)
- A welcome tour of the boat house and a description of the sport
- A demonstration of proper rowing technique on an ERG (rowing machine) with a chance to try an ERG
- Plus an opportunity, weather permitting, to go out on the water for 15 minutes (with experience rowers and coaches) for a live experience of what rowing is like on our Indian River Lagoon
- This experience will be scheduled for 30 minutes with a maximum of 10 participants per time slot
Those attending our Free Clinics will get to talk to our current "student" Space Coast Crew team rowers and coaches. This is a great quick experience for students who may considering joining a rowing team, and the friends and families of our current team members who wonder what it is like to row!
Clinic participation is strictly scheduled by advanced registration before the Saturday events. Space may not be available for the day of signup. When you arrive at Oars & Paddles Park, look for the table near the boathouse to check in and let use now you've arrived and check to make sure your waivers are complete. T

NEW!! This year we are offering an Introduction to Rowing for Elementary age participants (rising 5th - 6th) the week of June 20-24. Class is limited to 14 rowers, so don't delay in signing up!
