HS Returnee/ Novice HS Camps Registrations

2019-2020 Space Coast Crew Youth Registration

Space Coast Crew Mission: To promote a competitive rowing program that embodies sportsmanship & ethics, principles of respect & responsibility, and personal growth through winning & losing with dignity & self-control.

Please find the registration package for the SCC High School competitive rowing team. All sections regarding policies, waivers and notices must to be read, reviewed, considered and agreed to during the registration process. You will receive a confirmation email when registration is complete with links to the Required Regatta Waivers. Please Take Action when you complete registration and finish those asap.

Registration and Dues cover programs, equipment maintenance, practices, regatta entry fees, awards, and food at regattas. Not included are unisuits (>$85), travel expenses to and from regattas in fall and spring (such as bus) and some overnight hotel stays to expect in the spring, nominal membership cost for USrowing, and a splash jacket optional purchase. This season we are strongly urging all rowers to take team busses for some out of town regattas for which seats run $40 and include pizza dinner on the way home. More information will be available at our Mandatory Parent Meeting on August 24th as well as follow on Booster Meetings.

Regarding volunteer hours (20 hours per rower): Please select one or more ways you are interested in volunteering this year from the choices provided. Food Tent help is always needed and we are looking for families who have a diesel truck and are willing to help us tow the boat trailer to and from regattas.  If nothing is chosen, you will see the volunteer hours added as a dollar amount in checkout. This is up to you- we had families choose this last year. We will also have new fundraising opportunities this year we haven't seen before. We are looking forward to parent and board engagement to fund the things that make our rower's time at SCC great! Hours will be tracked through the fall and families are expected to have met half of their hours no later then Dec 31. Anyone who does not meet that commitment will be charged $100 as of January 1. This charge may be credited back in the spring once all the volunteer hours are met.

Each rower needs a YEARLY Sports Physical form completed. This form must be printed out, then filled out and signed by an M.D., then submitted in person, in a sealed envelope with rower's first and last name, as soon as possible. This can be delivered at the Registration day Aug 3rd, Learn to Row day Aug 10th or may be placed into the black locked box at the boathouse by or before August 24th.

This year Brevard County School Board elected to require EKG's for all athletes participating in school sports. Space Coast Crew is adopting this policy as well and requests that all athletes have an EKG as well. Who We Play For is a Non-profit organization that is helping to make these available through out the community. They will be hosting a clinic on August 5th from 5-7 pm at Oars and Paddles Boathouse. Please sign up here if you wish o participate in the SCC clinic for $20. Www.whoweplayfor.org/screening

Please note: As a non-profit scholastic sports team, payments are accepted by Visa/Mastercard only and the card used for Registration will be kept securely on file by Blue Sombrero and charged Dues based on the payment schedule you select.  This year we will have a monthly payment schedule or you may elect to pay all at once up front.
