Welcome to the 27th Season for Space Coast Crew (SCC). New Program for Elementary School Students - Our Elementary School program is open to all 5th - 6th graders in Brevard County, Florida no matter where you attend school. Elementary School Crew is a Fun and Challenging way to get introduced to one of the best sports for students!
Space Coast Crew Elementary School Rowing is a recreational team program designed to introduce rowing to boys and girls attending any Brevard County school (5th & 6th graders). The goal is to introduce rowing while maintaining an informal and fun atmosphere.
Registration and Dues Your membership fees mainly go towards coaching salaries, equipment and equipment repair, regatta and travel fees, launch fuel, insurance and professional fees. The board works to establish a balanced budget as a non-profit while trying to ensure we remain affordable for our families.
Structure The Elementary School rowing program is setup in 8-week sessions that allow athletes more flexibility to participate in crew based on their family's schedule. Each 8 Week Session will be comprised of several weeks of training where our coaches teach the basics of rowing and teamwork building these skills through practices 3 days a week, culminating with their participation in a regatta at the end of the 8-week session.
The currently planned Elementary School Sessions (subject to change) are as follows:
Session 1
- Session Dates: Monday, August 22nd - Saturday, October 15th
- Regatta - First Coast Head Race, Jacksonville
Session 2
- Session Dates: Monday, October 17th - Saturday, December 3rd
- Regatta - Middle School Championships, C54
Session 3
- Session Dates: Monday, January 30th - Saturday, March 25th
- Regatta - Jake Snyder Regatta, Orlando
Practice Schedule for the Elementary School Program is as follows.
- Monday & Wednesday's - 3:00 - 4:15pm
- Friday's - 2:00 - 3:30pm
