Saturday & Sunday, February 18-19, 2023

Friday, February 17, 2023:

We will load the trailer on Friday from 4:00-5:30pm and then dismiss so families can travel over that evening. Please plan accordingly, attendance is expected, we need all hands to load the trailer!

Saturday, February 18, 2023:

Arrival Time:

High School Athletes need to arrive at the trailer at 7:00 AM. Remember athletes will need to be dropped off at the correct drop off point and walk to the island so please allow time for that.

Middle School Athletes will meet the coaches at the drop off point at 9:30 AM. They will be escorted to the trailer by the MS Coaches. (Check Crew APP for Location)

Sunday, February 19, 2023:

The arrival time for Sunday will be announced later when we know what the schedule for that day will be.

Transportation:

All athletes are responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from the race venue. As a reminder, athletes are not allowed to drive themselves to and from races, they must be transported by a parent or trusted adult. All High School athletes must arrive by 7:00 AM at the trailer. All Middle School athletes must arrive by 9:30 AM at the specified meeting spot.

Food:

All athletes who are racing must eat breakfast before they arrive. We will also provide light snacks and lunch at the boat trailer but that will not be good enough for a fully fueled athletes to race on without eating a good breakfast in the morning. There will be water and Gatorade at the trailer and tent for the athletes throughout the day. Athletes must bring a refillable water bottle.

Uniform:

All high school athletes should wear their SCC uniform. Middle school athletes will be given a racing tank at the race site and should wear black compression shorts. Also, remember to bring your sunscreen, bug spray, refillable water bottle, sunglasses, hat and rain jacket.

Weather:

Saturday, February 18th: A few clouds early, otherwise mostly sunny. High 76F. Winds NE at 10 to 20 mph.

Sunday, February 19th: Partly cloudy skies. High 78F. Winds ENE at 5 to 10 mph.

Parking and Drop-Off Logistics

The Circus As many of you have heard, Nathan Benderson Park is also hosting the circus during the race. \

We are committed to holding a great race for our youth rowers and we have assurances in place that we will still be able to conduct our regatta while the circus conducts their shows (and uses much of the island to park).

But we will need your patience and cooperation to work with them and listen to directions because parking, spectating and some other logistics will be different than many of us have experienced in the past. Space is going to be limited on the island because of the circus. We will have an area on the island where teams will be able to rent a tent from Benderson.

We will let anyone on and off the island.

25% OFF ALL CIRCUS SHOWS FOR RACE WEEKEND ONLY - PARTICIPANT COUPON HERE.

Parking (all days)

There will be no parking on the island. Parking is available at the South end of the course and at the Mote Marine lot.

Teams will be limited to their tow vehicles only.
